Brand new website goes live

Just over 5 years into setting up as a portrait photographer in Christchurch, and I finally have a new website. It’s funny how much my photography (and my whole life) has changed in 5 years. I have discovered that my photography is really light/bright and fairly “pretty”. I have discovered that I am about portraying the relationships between people, and that the emotion that shows in my images are what I want people to see in 10, 20 or 50 years time.

My web designer (Chris from Stimulus Creative) has really listened to what I am about, and I think he has created a website for me that portrays the type of photography that I love, and that I would love to be in your home, of your family, up on the wall, framed, in pride of place.

My son turns 5 years old this week, and I have changed from never wanting to be in a single image (I never liked having my photograph taken), to asking my husband to take over the camera and to start taking photographs. What brought about this? My son asking me where I am when he looks at photographs of himself when he was younger. He wants to see me as the big part of his life that I am, and I look like I was missing for the first 3 years! So we had a big session in the studio the other day…and you can see the results on my about page.

I work outdoors or in my Hillsborough studio, I love them both. I capture your family, your love, your relationships. “Share this day with someone you love…and take home precious memories that will last forever”. I hope I have achieved this with young Macy, her big sister and her mum.
