My style is to create images that don’t look too posed, and capture the connections within the family with each other, rather than the more traditional looking at the camera portraits. But I do always do a couple of these too, to make sure we have everything covered.
I love photographing big groups, and lots of generations.
Often people are not sure about the right time for a portrait. They have concerns about children behaving, teenagers smiling or want to wait until everything is perfect for a portrait (ie a common one is to wait until you are the perfect weight!!). But from my experience I say just do it. You never know the future, and you can always update them down the track.
Family Portrait Photography Pricing
My philosophy about family portrait photography is all about ending up with beautiful and personal images on your walls. Because of this, my images are sold per print, so that your images don’t languish in a folder on your desktop!
The final pricing depends on how many images you love!
The session fee is $99, which covers the time on the day. Then you choose what you love a week or two after our session.
For example:
A beautiful family portrait, capturing a special moment and enlarged to 20″ x 14″ for on the lounge wall. Professionally printed and matted, ready to be framed is $369. (So the total price including the session is $468). Or a gorgeous 30″ x 20″ is $869.
Or for 10″ x 7″ matted portraits (which are really popular, and fit in a standard size frame you can buy most places): Packages of six, twelve and eighteen prints range from $750, $1150 to $1550.
