My style is to create images that don’t look too posed, and capture the connections within the family with each other, rather than the more traditional looking at the camera portraits. But I do always do a couple of these too, to make sure we have everything covered.
I love photographing big groups, and lots of generations.
Often people are not sure about the right time for a portrait. They have concerns about children behaving, teenagers smiling or want to wait until everything is perfect for a portrait (ie a common one is to wait until you are the perfect weight!!). But from my experience I say just do it. You never know the future, and you can always update them down the track.
